What is NAP (Non Aggression Pact)

Especially at the beginning, you will often read the term NAP being typed all the time. In most servers, the NAP agreement is drafted by the leaders of the top 10 alliances at the beginning days of the server to ensure the server stability and growth.

So what is it?

In order to understand the importance of this pact, you first need to understand that this game is not about being the best in your server, but the server as a whole to be the best among other servers. The server wars (SvS or Server vs Server) start after around the 30th day of the server and happen every week once they start. In many cases, the server that did not have any internal conflicts in the initial preparation period dominates all, while the ones that were attacking between themselves fail and in many cases leads to complete server failure.

In order to ensure stability, since there are no game mechanics as allied alliances, players from the top alliances agree that they will not attack each other. Most of the time, this applies to the players that belong in the top 10 alliances ranked by power. The number of the alliances included heavily depends of the agreement and some servers may even include 20 alliances in their pact. This is why you may see variations like NAP12, NAP15, NAP16 and so on, where the number indicates the number of the alliances included.

How can I know if a player is in NAP alliance

To check the alliance rankings, you need to open your profile on the top left, click on Ranking and than go to Alliance Power. A good idea is to always check the rankings before making any action against another player since alliance power constantly varies.

What is forbidden under NAP

This varies from server to server, but for most of the time for almost all servers the simple explanation is: Any action that will result in generating a combat report against another player belonging in a NAP alliance is strictly forbidden. The most common actions that are forbidden are:

  • Attacking a HQ
  • Attacking a players formation
  • Attacking a resource tile that is already occupied
  • Scouting
  • Attacking already occupied city (alliance wide)

What is allowed under NAP

Same as the forbidden actions, the allowed ones also vary depending on the agreement, but usually are:

  • Attacking someone in arena
  • Attacking intercity trucks
  • Attacking a mine in Mines Melee
  • Attacking a players formation on Saturdays (Enemy Buster day)

For both forbidden and allowed actions it is best to check on your current server if these are different.

What happens to the player / alliance if they break this agreement

Again, depending on the server, the severity of the punishment may vary, especially depending of the action, but usually is one of the following:

  • A warning to the player
  • Allowing the hurt player to attack the one that broke the agreement and take back the stolen resources
  • Removal from the alliance
  • Removal from the alliance and not being accepted in any of the NAP alliances

Who is enforcing NAP rules

Usually, the reports are handled in a leaders group that consists of all the R5 members of the NAP alliances. The affected R5s agree in front of the rest how the specific case will be handled.

If for some reason, there is an alliance that does something outrageous or continues to break the rules constantly, the expected outcome is that all other member alliances will turn against them and expel them from the agreement.
